Getting to the root of the problem:
Root Rot Management for Annual and Perennial Crops

 Dr. Janna Beckerman
Purdue University

Of all plant health problems, root rots tend to be the most under-diagnosed and misdiagnosed. This is not surprising, considering we see stems, leaves, and flowers, while the roots are hidden beneath the soil (or soilless) substrate. As a result, roots are often only examined as an afterthought, when all other causes of disease have been exhausted. Unfortunately, soil-borne fungi and water molds are the cause of some of the most widespread, and serious diseases in the greenhouse. This talk focuses on the cultural and chemical management of the most common root rots we encounter in the greenhouse.
